About Little Painter Art Classes

Little Painter art classes are aimed at children aged between 5 and 12 years old. At the Little Painter art classes children will learn to enjoy art by drawing, painting and creating little masterpieces to remember. I teach children how to observe the colours of nature and the wonderful shapes of the things that surround them daily – and how to then express what they have seen through drawing and painting.

The classes are small with maximum of 6 children per class – and places will be allocated on first come, first served basis. This enables me to give each child the attention and help they need to finish their artwork. Children will be taught drawing, watercolor, acrylic and pastel techniques. I allow two sessions for most of the projects so that the children have enough time to understand the techniques, learn how to use them in their work and finish
their artwork without feeling pressured. Each child, who has attended all the classes, should have 5 to 6 art pieces by the end of the term.
About me

My name is Aferdita. My passion is painting and my aim is to share this knowledge with others. I am a mother of two boys (age 6 and 8) and we like to get messy.
We especially like to draw animals and bring them to life by painting them. This is an activity that makes us all happy and connects us.

How Little Painter was born

I studied teaching German as a foreign language and practiced teaching for a while. However, most of my professional career I worked in human resources and painted in my free time. After friends and family often tried unsuccessfully to find regular art classes locally, the idea of the Little Painter was born.

Awakening the sleeping artist in every child

Nowadays, in UK schools, funding for art-related projects has been reduced and children are constantly under pressure to do well in other subjects. This means that art is left as secondary.
However, it has been proven that children who are exposed and practice different areas of art are able to use art as a medium to express themselves and better communicate their ideas.
I therefore hope to awaken the sleeping artist within each child that attends the classes and let them create artworks that they feel proud to show to the world.
